Following an announcement in late April, Messenger Rooms is now a fact: Facebook’s new video service is available worldwide today, the company reports. With Messenger Rooms you can make video calls with fifty people at the same time, without a time limit. The service can be used in the latest version of the Messenger mobile app and desktop app. So you don’t have to download a separate app.
Anyone Can Participate
With Messenger Room you can create a ‘room’ yourself and share it via the Facebook news overview, Groups, and Events so that other Facebook users can immediately participate in the conversation. But you can also share the link to the room with non-Facebook users so that they too can participate.

Manage Facebook Messenger Rooms
As the manager of the virtual chat room you can see who is participating, you can remove unwanted guests and you can lock the room so that no one else can connect.
Messenger Rooms Vs ZOOM
ZOOM has another formidable competitor with Messenger Rooms. With ZOOM you can video chat up to a hundred people at a time, but the free version has a time limit of forty minutes. As said before, there is no limit at Messenger Rooms.

The other Facebook chat app, WhatsApp, also recently released an update, so that you can now make unlimited video calls with eight people at the same time. For ‘regular’ conversations with friends, for which WhatsApp is mainly used, that is usually sufficient.
