Google now makes it possible to display meetings in large on your TV with Chromecast. The innovation is useful for meetings with large groups, among other things.

Remote work continues to be the norm in many places around the world and to meet that demand, we suddenly see Google putting a lot more resources into developing its Google Meet tool for meetings. Google is not alone in seeing the importance of video conferencing increasing, as the relatively unknown Zoom evolved into a wildly popular tool and Facebook hastily released its own video conferencing tool.
Meet now comes with support for Chromecast, XDA Developers knows that. You can decide to cast the display on your TV before you start a meeting or during a meeting. Press the three-dot menu and choose ‘Cast this meeting’. Then select a TV or Google Cast device from the list. You can also end casting in the same way. The feature is now available for Google Meet in the desktop version of Chrome. For the time being, we still have to wait for an introduction to the feature in the Meet app. In a blog post, Google provides detailed instructions.
Usage scenarios
The ability to use your largest screen can be interesting in different scenarios. Perhaps you are in the office and you can use Google Meet to display the absent colleagues on the big screen. On the other hand, it can also be a useful method to see the different participants in the meeting better when you meet in a large group.
Meet supports meetings of up to 250 participants for G Suite corporate users and (soon) up to 100 participants for free users and schools. Luckily, Meet shows up to 16 people at a time to ensure visibility, but even then, that display isn’t ideal for smaller screens.
