Of course, there can always be an exception to the rule and there may be freelancers who may or may not be able to do the above. In my experience, however, you shouldn’t want to outsource certain things to someone who doesn’t speak your native language.
Never choose just one freelancer
If you want to outsource something for the first time via Fiverr or if you have come up with something new that you want to outsource via Fiverr, never bet on one horse.
Submit the job to several freelancers, so that you can compare them and that you can combine the best elements of each freelancer.
Outsourcing via Fiverr can be done for as little as $5, so it’s worth having multiple versions made by multiple freelancers.
Do not be disappointed when you get bad work back; there are also plenty of freelancers on Fiverr who are not so good at their job.
Look for profile reviews
When choosing the right freelancers, it is important that you first take a good look at their profile. Then ask yourself the following questions:
- Does this person have enough reviews and what is said in the reviews?
- Do the images used appeal to me?
- Is this a price I have to pay?
- How do I feel about the job description?
- Does the freelancer’s profile inspire enough confidence in me?
These are a number of things that you have to determine well in advance and find out so that you can work with someone as well as possible. After all, these are also topics about which you want to know more when you work with a local freelancer.
Message before buying a gig
If you have a good feeling about it after seeing someone’s profile, you should always contact us before purchasing.
Introduce yourself first, tell him about your job, talk about the price and show interest in the freelancer. Here it is already important to bond with someone.
9/10 times the price people ask is their dream price and quite a bit of the price can be reduced. And often the freelancer also has a good idea that he or she can process for you.
But it may also be that the freelancer is too busy now and therefore cannot meet your deadline or that the job does not suit him or her at all.

Be clear with your job description
When you are talking to a freelancer, you will, of course, describe your job. When do you want it? How much can it cost? Which colors should be processed?
Be as clear as possible in your description and give them all the information you need. Unfortunately, there are freelancers on Fiverr who literally do what you say or whose English is not very good. This can cause problems and, for example, ensure that your logo has not become what you have in mind.
What I find that helps very well is to draw your idea when possible. Send as much information as possible so that they know exactly what you want.
If I cannot explain my idea properly, I always draw. Watch! (I know, drawing was not my best subject at school)
Negotiate the price and delivery time
Once the freelancer’s job is clear, he will make you a proposal. This proposal mainly contains the price and delivery time. Always discuss this.
The freelancer knows that you will haggle and so he will charge a higher price. This may sound a bit irreverent, but I always compare it to the flea market.
If the freelancer asks $10, he probably does it for $7.
What is also important is what exactly you get for that $7. When we talk about a logo, he can, for example, make multiple logos or offer multiple revisions.
And you might not get the Illustrator or Photoshop file for that $7, but only the PNG file. Always negotiate about this too.
Test before you place a large order
If you have followed all the tips, you have now chosen good freelancers and agreed on a nice price. Whether the freelancer can actually carry out the discussed job as desired remains to be seen.
For that reason, let him first make 3 images for your blogs instead of the required 55. Make sure that you are 100% satisfied and know that the freelancer can complete the job as desired before you put everything down to him.
If he has done the first 3 correctly, do not put the remaining 52 by him, but pick it up in phases. Then you can keep an overview and the freelancer is not flooded with work.
Go for the long term
Treat the freelancer the way you want to be treated yourself. Do not completely milk the person in question. If the freelancer has already dropped in price, don’t try to go below the price anymore.
Yes, with your job he can earn a day or week’s wages in some countries and yes, even though it is so little it sometimes feels unethical.
But always go for the long term within Fiverr. I now work with a freelancer who can deliver something for me within an hour if necessary, who makes adjustments that I have not discussed for free and actually thinks along with me.
That is also very valuable to me. A freelancer will not do this for you after one job, because you will not do this after one job for a customer.
But if you take good care of the freelancer, the freelancer will take good care of you. And never forget the freelancers are just people too!
Tip
In a restaurant, you tip when the staff took good care of you and when everything was to your liking. This works (I think) on Fiverr the same way. Reward your freelancer with a few extra dollars once in a while.
Especially when the freelancer does recurring chores for you at a competitive price.
