Google Duo will have a subtitle function for voice and video messages. This way you can also watch video messages in a noisy environment.
Google Duo Subtitles
The duo is Google’s video calling service that is more intended for one-person or smaller group conversations, unlike Google Meet, which is for large group meetings. You can now make video calls in Duo with 32 participants. Google has now announced on Twitter another novelty for Duo, namely the ability to read subtitles in voice or video messages.
Duo not only lets you make video calls, but you can also record a video or voice message and send it to one of your contacts. This is useful unless you open such a message in a noisy environment, for example with heavy traffic in the background. The subtitles should come to the rescue there because that way you can immediately listen to such a message.
In a noisy place? No problem. Captions are now available on Google Duo, so you won’t miss a word of your video and voice messages. https://t.co/jqEvy9Vyn7 pic.twitter.com/gq5Z2ntn5P

You can activate the function in ‘Settings’> ‘Message settings’, but the option is not yet visible on our phones. It is also not yet clear whether the function will immediately work in Dutch. We may have more patience with us before we can expect the feature for Duo.
Duo and Meet
It also recently leaked that Google wants to phase out its video calling service in the next two years. Google would like to transfer functions from Duo to Meet and then continue with the latter service. What do you think of that rumor? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
