Google’s video conference solution has already found its way into Gmail on the desktop – the logo in the sidebar can now also be hidden if desired. For the mobile Gmail apps under iOS and Android, you have probably learned something new: In the Gmail settings, you can remove the checkmark from Meet in the menu item Account management – the corresponding tab in the app should then be hidden.
The Meet tab in the Gmail app will also be available on Android and iOS apps in the coming weeks. Meetings can then be displayed therein calendar form, and a meeting can also be joined directly from the Gmail app:
Google Meet has also been available to private users free of charge since April. If you can’t do anything with it, the menu item can, as already mentioned, be deactivated on all platforms.
