Huawei, which is negatively affected by the tension between the USA and China, cannot offer Google apps preloaded on their devices. The brand, which has been working for a long time to eliminate this disadvantage, has signed an important agreement with the video-sharing service Dailymotion. (gizchina.com)

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei and French video provider Dailymotion have announced that they will cooperate in the future. In future, users of new Huawei smartphones will be able to access videos from the Dailymotion portal directly in their Huawei video app.
The background to the agreement is the fact that Huawei is no longer allowed to install Google applications on its smartphones due to the US embargo. Among other things, the YouTube app is missing on devices such as the Mate 30 Pro and the P40 Pro (test).
With Dailymotion, users should have an alternative for YouTube in the future. The video platform is used by numerous media companies worldwide, but with a concentration on French media such as Le Monde, L’Equipe or Marie Claire. Dailymotion is also a content provider for MSN, Bing and Orange.
Dailymotion with Significantly Fewer users than YouTube
Dailymotion is the second largest video portal after Youtube, but is far behind the US company in terms of user numbers. According to its own information, Dailymotion has 250 million users worldwide, YouTube, however, has 2 billion users.

Owners of new Huawei smartphones also do not have to do without YouTube entirely: the service can also be used in the browser with comparable user convenience; an app is not necessary. Youtube is one of those Google offers that can be used without any problems and with the full range of functions even without the company’s pre-installed apps and services – unlike, for example, Google Maps or the Play Store .
Users of Huawei devices that came onto the market before the US embargo came into force can continue to use the Google apps . Huawei has also reissued some older models such as the P30 Pro. These devices also come with the Google applications.
