Streaming provider Spotify confirmed today that two new podcast charts will be launched: the new top podcasts and the trending podcasts. As of today, the two chart lists will be rolled out in several countries
A total of 26 countries can enjoy and you should see the two podcast charts in both the Spotify app for Apple iOS and Android. In 26 countries like in Brazil, Australia, Mexico, Sweden, Great Britain and the USA, they want to dig even deeper into the data in order to sort the top podcasts by different categories. So you can also find the top podcasts for genres such as health and wellness more specifically.

In the top podcasts, Spotify will then list the most successful 200 podcasts from the region and the respective genre for you. It is based on the number of listeners in the past 30 days. The trending podcasts list the 50 fresh podcasts that have recently received the greatest surge in popularity. This list is based on the streaming numbers for the past seven days. The focus is on new releases. Both lists are always kept up to date.
At the same time, podcast makers should now also receive notifications when their podcasts are represented in the charts. A look at the dashboard is then sufficient. These notifications can also be converted into a picture that can then be proudly shared on social networks.
According to Spotify, the in-house offering now houses over 1 million podcasts, so that users want to be offered further help so that they can find suitable and high-quality content as easily as possible. You will find the new podcast charts on Spotify in the app under “Search All”, then in the “Podcasts” section and you should see them in the categories as “Podcast Charts”.

For me they can already be seen in the current Android app – also with sub-categories such as “Top Comedy”, “Top Knowledge & Education” or “Top Society & Culture”. So if you like listening to podcasts via Spotify and looking for suggestions, then I hope you enjoy browsing!
